About Helping Plate

Food support should be easier to find—and easier to use.

Helping Plate brings community food listings, visit planning, and realistic low-cost cooking guidance into one straightforward public resource.

Useful local details

We organize hours, requirements, contact information, and directions so visitors know what to confirm before leaving home.

Community maintenance

People can suggest listings and report changes. Community signals and administrator tools help correct information that becomes outdated.

Meals that stretch

Our recipe guides add pantry substitutions, food-box adaptations, storage guidance, and concrete ways to make ingredients go further.

Our editorial standards

How we publish responsibly

Helping Plate is a community resource, not a food pantry, government agency, medical service, or emergency service. Pantry schedules and eligibility can change without notice, so every listing encourages visitors to call or check the organization’s official source before traveling.

Directory information is attributed. We label community and open-data listings and preserve official source links where available.
Corrections are welcomed. Visitors can report closures, schedule changes, and incorrect details. Administrators can edit, archive, restore, and review records.
Recipe creators receive credit. We link to the original recipe or video, identify its creator, and never re-upload their footage.
Our additions are independently written. Helping Plate supplies its own substitutions, pantry-box notes, storage guidance, budget context, and safety reminders rather than copying a creator’s commentary.
Prices are dated context—not promises. Historic creator prices are labeled and visitors are reminded that local costs vary.
Conflicts are disclosed. The current recipe collection is editorial and unpaid. If content is ever sponsored or contains an affiliate relationship, it will be labeled clearly on the page.
